 | EQIA Framework - SIPSE BME Action Group This guidance has been produced to help carry out a robust Equality Impact Assessment, a requirement under the Equalities Legislation.
“Impact Assessment is a systematic way of finding out whether a policy, function or service (or one which is proposed) affects different groups differently. It should be part of normal policy making process” (Commission of Racial Equality 2003)
An Equality Impact Assessment is a thorough and systematic analysis of a policy, (for the purpose of this document ‘policy’ will encompass strategy, proposal, function or service) and determines the extent of differential impact upon particular groups. Impacts can be positive, negative and even neutral.
The process of the Equality Impact Assessment is to ensure that individuals and teams consider the likely impact of their work on users of services, local communities and staff. The process involved in carrying out an Equality Impact Assessment is not an end in itself. The aim of the assessment is the promotion of equality of opportunity and the outcomes are of primary concern. |

 | RAISE Response DLR August 2007 RAISE is pleased to participate in the consultation of the Discrimination Law Review. However, we are very disappointed that the consultative approach taken by CLG has ignored the Voluntary/Community Sector (VCS) in the events that it has hosted. The views within this response take into account comments received from the RAISE membership and include opinions developed from RAISE’s involvement in setting up a regional Equality and Diversity Network. |

 | Social Inclusion Statement SIPSE has designed this Social Inclusion Statement for consultation.
We want to encourage you to tell us about the aspects of social inclusion you know about - where you work, where you live. We would like to ask you a few questions and have devised a questionnaire to help us ensure that the statement reflects the true picture of social exclusion in the region. We welcome any views you have on the statement and, in particular, we are asking organisations, businesses and individuals to consider the questions on the questionnaire.
We are seeking views by Friday 6th July 2007. |
