Health and social care

We deliver our health and social care work by:

Improving communication between charities and others, such as local councils and national government bodies. For example:

  • we manage a Health and Social Care Network to help local organisations build connections between their work, share interests and develop good practice
  • we act as a conduit for information and experience between the Department of Health and voluntary and community organisations through being a strategic partner (as part of Regional Voices)

Giving voluntary and community organisations the information they need to learn and develop. For example:

  • we provide information on health policy development through regular e-Bulletins
  • we run events to inform the sector about the latest policy developments and how they will affect their work

Helping voluntary and community organisations to develop practical ideas to thrive and grow. For example:

  • we bring together voluntary and community organisations with statutory partners to explore practical ways to work better together in the future, teasing out barriers and developing good practice
  • we use our research to develop bespoke tools such as the Healthier Perspective Toolkit for better commissioning
